Telangana Price Watch

Retail inflation in Telangana reached 6.27% in August 2026. That's just above the RBI's 2–6% tolerance band, though the rise has stalled since June. Food and a precious-metal-driven jump in personal care account for about two-thirds of it. Excluding those two categories, inflation is lower (3.8%) but has risen every month since February. Rural inflation is higher than urban.

Outlook: how much inflation eases depends on price momentum

Inflation compares today's prices with the same month last year. Prices jumped in Nov 2025 – Jan 2026, so inflation should ease then. How much depends on how fast prices keep rising. Pick a monthly price rise to see the projected rate.

Source: Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), Consumer Price Index (base 2024 = 100), Telangana, 13 divisions × rural/urban/combined — eSankhyiki portal. Year-on-year rates are available from January 2026.

Weights: all-India CPI (base 2024) division weights from MoSPI's first press release on the new series (PIB, 12 Feb 2026).
